KP Research Radio podcast explores new research and treatment
More than half a million people are expected to be diagnosed with heart failure this year alone — making it one of the most common heart problems.
People with heart failure have a heart that is not able to pump enough blood to meet the body’s need for blood and oxygen. In most cases, the condition is brought on by other health problems, such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes.
KP Research Radio spoke with senior research scientist Alan Go, MD, who leads the Division of Research Cardiovascular and Metabolic Conditions Section, and Andrew Ambrosy, MD, a research scientist who is also a cardiologist with The Permanente Medical Group, about their research exploring how scientific innovations like artificial intelligence can improve care for people with heart failure.
