Psychosis is a mental health disorder that can have a big impact on a patient’s life and that of their loved ones. Treating it early can reduce that burden.
Matthew Hirschtritt, MD, MPH, is a psychiatrist and adjunct investigator with the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research (DOR). In the latest KP Research Radio podcast, Hirschtritt discusses his work using sophisticated data techniques to predict which patients might benefit from a screening for psychosis risk.
This is a really promising way of being able to identify our members who may benefit from more intensive screening and then treatment, and to allow them to live the lives that they want to live.
This research is supported by the Kaiser Permanente Garfield Memorial Fund.
