Amber L. Bahorik, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow at the Division of Research, Kaiser Permanente Northern California. She is also a postdoctoral fellow in the NIDA-funded T32 Substance Abuse Treatment Services and Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Bahorik received her BA in psychology and philosophy from Duquesne University, and her MSW and doctorate in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, she is collaborating on projects with the Drug and Alcohol Research Team at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research, where she is mentored by Drs. Derek Satre, Cynthia Campbell, and Connie Weisner. Dr. Bahorik's research interests include investigating how salient factors such as motivation and cognition; gender and race/ethnicity; psychosocial and contextual factors; treatment/services and health-policies; and impacts on the course and outcome of individuals with multiple, co-occurring psychiatric and addictive disorders.
