Validation of a Set of Multilocus Genetic Risk Scores for Estimation of Coronary Risk across Ethnic Groups

The objective of this study is to validate an existing genetic risk score (GRS) based on eight genetic variants associated with CHD, but not with classical cardiovascular risk factors. This GRS has been recently shown to be associated with a linear increase in risk of CHD events and with improvement of net reclassification improvement (NRI) index in two distinct Europeans populations (The REGICOR Study and The Framingham Heart Study). We seek to validate these finding among GERA cohort members of European descent and to extend the analysis to other ethnicities (black, Latino, Asian).
