Charlie C. Chao, BS, MA, PTCB, CCRP
Charlie C. Chao, BS, MA, PTCB, CCRP, has been with us since 2000 as a clinical trial research coordinator II/certified pharmacy technician. In this role, he supports Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility; ensures compliance with procedures; maintains the security and confidentiality of participants' data; reviews medical records and test results; and abstracts needed data per protocol requirements. He coordinates and prepares protocol specimens for shipping or storage in accordance with regulations and sponsor shipping guidelines; assists in study closure activities; and coordinates study vaccines storage and shipping. Before joining us, he worked in an outpatient pharmacy at Kaiser Permanente, San Rafael.
Richard Ensor, BS, MA
Richard Ensor, BS, MA, clinical trial research coordinator II, works with the site study nurses to maintain proper supply levels for all ongoing clinical trials including study documents, medical and office supplies and equipment. He also performs weekly monitoring for accuracy of pediatric vaccine injections at various facilities. He began his career with us as a research assistant in 1992, conducting remote data entry for early chickenpox vaccine studies. He received a bachelor's degree at Illinois State University and a master of arts from San Francisco State University.
Debbie C. Jacobs
Debbie C. Jacobs, clinical trial research coordinator II, has been with us since 2004 coordinating clinical trial research tasks. She provides research, operational, and administrative support to the Kaiser Permanente Northern California principal investigators, the clinical trials administrative director, and other research staff members conducting multiple Food and Drug Administration-regulated clinical trials. Before joining our staff, she was a medical transcriptionist and medical office manager for a private practice.>/p>
Lisa Powell Lisa Powell, clinical trial research coordinator II, helps the administrative director plan and coordinate the activities of all non-physician personnel nationally. In addition, she is the remote data manager, responsible for the data entry staff. In this role, she ensures that the data entry staff keeps the data entry flowing and completed in a timely manner, and she manages the queries for all the remote data entry studies. She began her career with us as a research assistant in 1991, becoming the research assistants' supervisor before moving into her current position.
Amy Wiesner, RN, BSN
Amy Wiesner, RN, BSN, clinical research nurse, provides management support for post-licensure, clinical, and federal collaborative studies; prepares all study-specific Standard Operating Procedures; develops all study materials requiring approval by Kaiser Permanente's Northern California Institutional Review Board, and monitors quality assurance for federally funded projects. She joined us in 1999 as a study site clinical research coordinator. Before coming to Kaiser Permanente, she worked as a hospital nurse. She holds a bachelor of science in nursing and a bachelor of science in health science from California State University, Fresno, and is licensed as a registered nurse in California.
Jenny Yip, BA
Jennie Yip has been a clinical trial research coordinator for us since 1990, with responsibility for data entry, resolving data queries in a timely manner, and ensuring that study-related supplies are shipped according to protocol. She has a bachelor of arts from Sacramento State University, Sacramento, CA.
