Use and outcomes of intrapleural fibrinolytic therapy for complicated parapneumonic pleural effusion and empyema in Kaiser Permanente Northern California

This study will describe the variation in dosing regimens of intrapleural fibrinolytic medications administered within KPNC to adults hospitalized with complicated parapneumonic effusion/empyema using mixed effects modeling. Aim 2 will determine the associations between common dosing regimens of intrapleural fibrinolytic therapy and treatment escalation.
