The Research Program on Genes, Environment and Health (RPGEH) of Kaiser Permanente Northern California is one of the largest research projects in the U.S. to examine the genetic and environmental factors that influence common diseases.
About the RPGEH
Our research focuses on the genetic and environmental factors that affect common diseases, disease risk factors, and response to treatment. The success of RPGEH has led to the establishment of the Kaiser Permanente Research Bank.
Research with the RPGEH
The RPGEH conducts research and facilitates collaboration on research conducted with RPGEH resources. There are over 50 active projects currently using the RPGEH resource.
Building a Biobank: RPGEH History
The RPGEH began in 2007 to develop a biobank of biospecimens and data from 200,000 KP member volunteers in Northern California. This resource provides the basis for research projects by the RPGEH and other scientists.
