Goldman, Max L.
Dr. Max L. Goldman was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University, in Atlanta, and his medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his medical residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Goldman served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF, the Director of Patient Flow Operations at the San Francisco VA Hospital, and as a Lean Six Sigma Project Lead on a number of systemwide quality improvement initiatives.

 

Dr. Goldman has a strong academic interest in improving care delivery. His research is focused on methods of early detection of advanced hepatic fibrosis in high-risk MASLD patients, factors affecting survival and recurrence in hepatocellular carcinoma, and aligning the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease with guidelines on a population level. He has authored commentaries and manuscripts published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Liver Transplantation, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Hepatology Communications, and the American Journal of Medicine.
