Lauren D. Liao, PhD, is a research scientist/biostatistician at the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research. She earned her PhD in Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Liao’s methodological research focuses on areas of causal study design and analysis in observational and trial settings. Recent projects include developing a visualization tool to better observational study design; this tool is applied to a study evaluating the effect of antidiabetic medication, glyburide, on perinatal health outcomes amongst pregnant individuals with gestational diabetes. She is an active researcher in ongoing studies to assess vaccine effectiveness and safety.
