Laura C. Myers, MD, MPH, is a research scientist at the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research. Her research focuses on understanding the optimal care delivery models for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dr. Myers is a practicing intensivist in the Diablo Service Area (Walnut Creek and Antioch). She holds a BA from Dartmouth College, a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She did her clinical training and a fellowship in quality/safety at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Preventing hospitalizations for COPD exacerbations due to air pollution from wildfire smoke
Goal is to identify COPD patients at high risk of hospitalization from air pollution due to wildfire smoke, identify barriers to utilization of interventions that mitigate exposure to air pollution from wildfire smoke and pilot an intervention (education+masks+air purifiers) to mitigate exposure of COPD patients to particulate matter from wildfire smoke.
