Ou, Michael

Michael Ou, MD, is a Clinical Informatics Research Fellow in the Health Care Delivery and Policy Section at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research. His research interests include investigating risk factors impacting surgical outcomes, artificial intelligence, and the intersection of how AI can improve surgical care.

Dr. Ou received his BS in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University and his MD from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. At the beginning of the pandemic Dr. Ou took a year off of medical school in order to contribute to research, publishing studies that contributed to global policy change amongst transplant recipients. Dr. Ou is also a general surgery resident at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). After completing his clinical informatics fellowship, he will return to UCSF to finish his clinical training before continuing on to a surgical fellowship.
