Meera Ragavan, MD, MPH, is a research scientist at the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research and practicing board-certified medical oncologist at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center. Dr. Ragavan’s research interests are centered around mitigating issues of access, affordability, and equity in cancer care delivery. She specifically studies barriers to clinical trial enrollment, financial hardship, and disparities in guideline-concordant care with a focus on patients with lung cancer. She has published in numerous journals and spoken at regional and national conferences on these topics. Most recently, she secured a Young Investigator Award through the American Society of Clinical Oncology to study the impact of financial assistance programs on clinical outcomes for patients prescribed oral anti-cancer medications. She also served as an editorial fellow for the Journal of Clinical Oncology- Oncology Practice.

Dr. Ragavan earned her undergraduate degrees in biology and economics at the University of Pennsylvania in the Vagelos Life Sciences and Management program. She went on to complete her medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine and her internal medicine residency at Stanford Health Care before pursuing an oncology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, where she served as chief fellow. She additionally holds a Master’s of Public Health with a focus in health policy from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
