Sue Hee Sung, MPH, is the Managing Director of the Clinical Trials Program (CTP) at Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Since joining Kaiser Permanente in 1999, she has held roles across the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, The Permanente Medical Group, and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.
Previously as director of clinical trials finance and operations, she restructured finance, feasibility, and operations teams; managed multimillion-dollar budgets; and led negotiations for industry-sponsored trials in oncology, infectious disease, and cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic conditions.
Throughout her tenure, she has driven innovation and efficiency by improving trial operations, building cross-functional collaborations, strengthening sponsor partnerships, and advancing financial transparency to support equitable, research-informed care.
