More than 5,700 men with prostate cancer are on active surveillance in KPNC and have their clinical data captured in a templated note. More accurate risk stratification at diagnosis of those destined to be non-progressors would enable better selection for active surveillance. Using pre-exiting data on these men, we will develop and internally validate a risk assessment tool that predicts risk of cancer progression at 1 and 4 years from diagnosis and compare our tool with an existing calculator.
