Postpartum Hemorrhage and Anemia: Epidemiologic and Cost-Effectiveness Analyses

This project, a collaboration with Dr. Alex Butwick at Stanford University, aims to investigate the prevalence and incidence of early postpartum anemia in patients following Cesarean delivery prior to hospital discharge over a 5-year period. As part of this project, we will collect hemoglobin values prior to Cesarean delivery and post-Cesarean hemoglobin values until hospital discharge. We also will collect demographic, obstetric and surgical data. Multivariate logistic regression will be used to determine important variables independently associated with postpartum anemia.
