Coordinating Center
AIM-HI is led by Dr. Vincent Liu, who will oversee all program activities at the Coordinating Center as well as across Advisory and Working Groups.
The Coordinating Center will:
- Manage all activities related to administering and executing the RFP (e.g., review and fund grants, manage budgets, execute subcontracts, etc.)
- Select proposals for funding, assess project progress, lead domain working groups, and disseminate best practices to build the capacity for effective AI/ML implementation in healthcare
- Oversee the portfolio of funded projects over the 3-year funding period
- Act as a resource and hub to all project teams and respond to questions during planned Working Group/Knowledge Hub meetings, during planned office hours, and ad hoc when they arise
- Provide technical assistance, coordinate regular convenings, and support informal communication and networking among the cohort as well as knowledge management of the program
- Serve, along with the awardees, to synthesize lessons across the projects and disseminate findings broadly both within the research and health system communities as well as to potential broader stakeholders including regulators, payors, industry, developers, and patient advocate groups
National Advisory Committee
The National Advisory Committee (NAC) is a multidisciplinary board of experts with experience in domains including AI/ML methodology, health system program evaluation, industry diagnostic tools, quality and safety of healthcare, health care disparities, and ethical/legal implications of AI/ML implementation. The NAC has been established to guide overall program direction and to serve as content experts and advisors during Working Group sessions and in-person meetings.

Working Groups
A focus of AIM-HI is to work collaboratively with awardees to synthesize lessons across the projects on the program objectives and to disseminate findings broadly both within the research and health system communities as well as to potential broader stakeholders including regulators, payors, industry, developers, and patient advocate groups. Several Working Groups will be formed to meet this aim. The expectation is that project teams will be actively engaged in ongoing discussions, not only about projects, but also with the aim to advance research methods, identify best practices, and identify requirements for how to successfully implement and evaluate existing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning algorithms that enhance diagnostic decision-making in various health care settings.
