Luis Rodriguez recognized with abstract award at 2026 ADA scientific sessions in New Orleans
More than a dozen investigators from the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research took part in the 2026 American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions in New Orleans in early June.
Highlights included:

Investigator Luis Rodriguez, PhD, MPH, RD, received the Early Career Abstract Award in Public Health & Epidemiology for his research on a novel electronic health record-based prediction model that can successfully identify patients who are at the highest risk of developing type 2 diabetes up to 10 years later. The findings, presented at an oral poster session, suggest it may be possible to identify the patients most likely to benefit from targeted diabetes prevention programs.

Two oral presentations: Monique Hedderson, PhD, DOR associate director, Women’s and Children’s Health, gave the invited talk, Menopause and Diabetes: Psychological Well-Being, Vasomotor Symptoms, and Health Behaviors in Midlife Women.

Alan Go, MD, DOR associate director, Cardiovascular, Kidney, and Metabolic Health, gave the oral presentation, Efficacy of a Food Is Medicine Program in Low-Income, High-Risk Adults with Type 2 Diabetes: The KP ENRICH Study.
